Evan Solomon replaces Don Newman (and then some)
Looks like the CBC has implemented some major staff and programming changes in its political and foreign bureaus. According to this article, Evan Solomon will host the new show that replaces Politics with Don Newman, and to shake things up a bit, Solomon’s show will span two hours instead of one. Two of Ottawa’s top political correspondents, Keith Boag and Susan Bonner, are leaving—deployed to LA and DC to bolster CBC’s Obama coverage. (Apparently we don’t get enough Obama coverage already?) Veteran CBC reporter Terry Milewski is the new chief political correspondent in our nation’s capital. He has Hill experience and I generally like his stories—here’s hoping he helps hold politicians accountable for the stunts they pull.
I’m not quite over Don Newman’s departure yet—my 5 o’clock hour will forever be empty without the irreplaceable brrrooooaadcast. Evan Solomon had better get work trying to fill those big shoes.

I miss Don too – the final tribute episode was awesome. I’m tempted to download it to when I get nostalgic!
That was indeed an amazing tribute show – I loved the singing!
